As people become more involved and committed to parrots as pets, they want better veterinary solutions for the health problems facing their birds. Whether or not parrots make good pets is largely a matter of personal opinion, as there are many advantages and disadvantages to keeping parrots as pets.

Parrots as pets are delightful but they can become extremely moody. Many people choose parrots as pets in the first place because parrots usually are fun. Keeping parrots as pets will continue to be challenging, but no one ever said they were designed to live in our living rooms. Many people who choose parrots as pets very often have buyer’s remorse after they realize what care and time are involved in owning and maintaining a healthy parrot. There is a large misconception that they’re easy to care for.

Parrots, like any other bird, spend a lot of their life in a cage. People have kept parrots as pets for centuries, but their popularity as almost-human companions has soared in the last few years.

The sale of all wild caught parrots as pets is now illegal in most countries because of the extinction rate of several species of these wonderful birds.

Parrot care is quite time consuming and is quite similar to childcare. However, people have kept parrots as pets for centuries, and their popularity as almost human companions has been soaring over the last few years.
